I suspect there are many who disagree with you on this.  To be  
honest, I don't know of iChats improvements. But Instant Messaging in  
general, I think can be very productive.

I work with a few people scattered around the country. We "chat" off  
and on all day. It's much easier and quicker than composing emails,  
easier and cheaper than the phone.     Just makes it easy to pass  
back and forth questions and answers regarding different things all  
day so much easier.  And sure you can use it to "just chat" with  
friends.  shoot, I could go on and on..   but i won't.

Don't see a problem with posting ones opinion on any feature or lack  
there of, as long as it pertains to MacOSX.
