So, I connected the printer back to the old G4 and it's working again from
there. Does anybody have idea why? Thanks,

Neil

Subject: [X4U] HP Printer Stopped Working Post-Tiger

OK, my HP printer used to work with my G5/2+2 PCI-x, but it doesn't anymore.
I don't remember if it has worked at all since I upgraded to Tiger several
months ago.

I went to the HP site where they said I should "select 'Reset Printing
System" option (from the Printer Setup Utility pull down menu) to delete all
previous printer queues." I did that and the printer still doesn't work.

When I try to print, I see an exclamation point next to my printer name in
the printer list of the print dialog box. The Print Center shows some
activity and then says that all jobs are stopped. It's as if the Mac can't
connect to the printer although the cables are fine.

In the Printer Setup Utility, I see my printer in the Printer List, but it
says the host is my old G4. The printer hasn't been connected to the G4 in
a long time. I guess I could try recconnecting the printer to the old G4 to
see if that helps. Do you have any other ideas? Thanks,

Neil
