Because you still have the receipts for the software you installed that
originally contained it. Permissions use the receipts, not the presence of
the widgets you threw away. Please visit Apple's document search site at
<http://search.info.apple.com/>, type in permissions, and find, among many
others, <http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=25751>. If that's
too difficult, then Finder->Help->MacHelp->search for permissions yeilds
many items that will answer your question(s).
