This isn't relevant to your Mac, but it may be what you heard about.  
Apple has recently admitted to a problem with 1.8 GHz models of Power  
Mac G5 (Late 2004) hanging during intensive graphics operations.  
There is supposed to be a fix in the works, but a release date has
