[X4U] Photoshop Problem

I¹ve got a very weird problem. I used Photoshop CS ver 1 to change some
horizontal photos to vertical and that works fine then I save the changes
and close the photo then when I open it up again in Photoshop it goes back
to horizontal. No matter how many times I change to vertical and do a Save
or Save as, doesn¹t matter, after I close it and open it again it¹s back to
horizontal so that¹s weird now it gets even weirder the icon is vertical for
some reason and when I take that same photo to another Mac with Photoshop it
opens up vertical and if I open it with Preview on the same machine it opens
up vertical. Only Photoshop won¹t open the photo as vertical. I trashed the
Photoshop preferences but that didn¹t do anything.

Any clues?
