[X4U] Playing AVI files

On osx I use VLC to play .avi files - works great

The two pc programs I tried so far -  often will only play the audio portion
- and do not play the video portion of some of the same files that worked
perfectly on OSX....

Q: What will play .avi files on a pc with XP?
