[X4U] Imac G5: right amount of RAM ???

My question is, why do all messages appearing on this list today have 
one or more of the _attachments_ as follows:

   GWAVADAT.TXT

   2#GWAVADAT.TXT

   Part 1.3

   Part 1.5

   3#Part.002

     [etc.]

Just wondering, as I don't know if this is new, or it's always been that 
way and I've not been paying attention.

I don't like "attachments" to messages that I don't know what they are.
Paranoid or simply cautious?
