[X4U] Wireless router reception

Would anybody on this list be able to offer an explanation for a drop in
wireless reception quality? We haven't installed any new electricals
although I did get a complete loss of connection on Sunday morning and my
ISP concluded that the router prefs had corrupted. After some pfaffing round
with the browser-based control panel, I was able to regain access, but since
then I've been experiencing a distinct fluctuation in reception.

I'm 7 feet away from, and in sight of, the Netgear wireless router. The
reception bar on my Powerbook is intermittently going up and down between
one bar and four as I'm typing this. Until a couple of days ago I'd be
getting a constant five without interruption. Now when I move to other rooms
in the house, it sometimes cuts out altogether, where before I'd be okay
getting a signal. I guess the router >might< be on the blink, but if there's
anything else I could try, suggestions would be very welcome.
