How is he connecting via USB? I have a 10- or 11-year-old LaserWriter
16/600 and it predates USB by quite a bit.

My own LaserWriter is connected to our network via ethernet, using an
adapter that translates from the old connector on the printer to
10-base T. It works fine. He might try just doing a custom
reinstalation of printer drivers from the OS 9.0.4 system CD.

How did he have it connected before he tried "USB" (I don't believe
USB is possible at all with this printer, so I don't know what he is
actually using.)
