[X4U] iPhoto 6 don't want to import

Hi again, am I in the right place to ask this question. If not,  
please redirect me if you can. Since I upgraded to iPhoto 6, I can  
import photos one time out of four. iPhoto just don't want to the  
job. Spinning beachball and force quit! Sometimes it will but it's so  
erractic when it does that I cannot remember the conditions under  
which iPhoto 6 agreed to import at this particular time. Any clue?
