[X4U] Pioneer DVR-110 or 111?

I read different data about these writers.  Some sites mention the  
possibility to read DVD-RAM and sometimes they don't.  Which writer  
can read DVD-RAM?
He wrote me that a 110 can read DVD-RAM and the 111 can't.  Is this so?
A dealer in Germany also mentioned to me to lift the writer with  
spacers (or paper) for some G5 models.  He didn't know for which G5.
