[X4U] DVD burner Drive affected by high temps and humidity?

Had that happen quite a bit with our old iMac DV (slot loading -of  
course). It did seem to be a bit temperature sensitive, but it seemed  
to be more disk specific than anything. I don't know if its slight  
differences in disk thickness or diameter, but changing to a  
different disk usually worked. As the drive got older, the problems  
showed up more, and you had to give the disk just the right amount of  
"help" going in. Don't force the disk in faster than the mechanism  
wants to go, but don't let the mechanism "bog down" either. Otherwise  
the disk might seem to go in all the way, but it won't get clamped in  
and spun up, which leaves your computer thinking there's no disk in  
there (restarting with the mouse button down would get it out).
