[X4U] FireWire quits working

I have, but to no avail. Both FW ports are inert!  But I didn't  
*really* expect it to show any life. In the profiler the G4 shows  
some info about the FW bus even with nothing connected. The iMac has  
no info about the FW bus showing.... like there's noting there to  
report on.

Rats! and Double rats!   I was hoping one of you more knowledgeable  
than I could tell me about some preference that has gotten reset  
accidently. Or something simple like that.  Why is it that all MY  
problems are expensive????
