[X4U] Can't Join Airport Network

We have this occur with my partner's TiBook 400, which uses the original
Airport card in it (like yours). Our network uses a D-Link DI624 (which is
802.11g capable). We reboot the router and he can join the network just fine
until the next time it happens.

He's running OS X 10.3.9.
