[X4U] belkin router problem

I've been with comcast for about a year or two, been using the same 
hardware setup involving a belkin router/dsl/switch as part of the rig.

this morning, the internet just stopped working.  after much 
troubleshooting, I went from modem directly into router and the net 
"came back," but I need to use the router.

I'm kinda mystified what could have made things suddenly stop working, 
but have enough experience with computers to know that all is possible. 
even wacky things.

any ideas? I've reset t hings, power cycled about 5 times, done all the 
trouble shooting things I know.

couldn't hurt to try one more idea!
