We shall find out of what value being a "celebrity author" and/or an
attorney is in the next day or so. I purchased a new copy of
Parallels from Amazon.com com last week. This week they have
released a new (3.0) version. There is no free upgrade, and in fact
the upgrade price is $49, almost what I paid for Parallels in the
first place.

I've sent in a request for a free upgrade to the Parallels folks.
I'd like to avoid having to block payment through my credit card and
inconveniencing the retailer (it really isn't their fault).

Even Apple will give you a free update to the Mac OS if you purchase
the old version a week earlier.
