Yes, but if you have continued to use your computer since trashing  
the files it is quite possible that they have already been  
overwritten and have become unrecoverable.

To work, file recovery program has to be programmed (by its  
developer, not by the end-user) to recognize the file type you are  
trying to recover.
Make sure that the product that you purchase can recover any file  
types that you have lost for non-common application types.

There are some free UNIX utilities that must be used from the command  
line that may work.

Photorec can recover deleted .jpg & .mov files. It's also capable of  
recovering some other types of deleted files.
