Thanks for the info and advice. I guess it comes down to the obvious
question: What will it be used for?

iPhoto
Ms Office
Some light iMovie'ing
Some Photoshop stuff
Some Dreamweaver'ing (or would that be weaving?)
Blogging
Firefoxing
Apple Mail


All of these things can be done perfectly well on a Macbook, except for
maybe I would miss the FW800 when importing from the video cam? Guess I
could live with that.

If the MBP was just a "little more" than the MB I would go for it. But it's
around $1000 more. So there it is.
