[X4U] Windows closing in Leopard

Isn't it just when you have the window open to the volume that you're  
ejecting?  I mean, you have the flash card selected in the "Devices"  
heading in the Finder's sidebar, so that Finder window is for the  
flash card. When you eject it, the window SHOULD close.
