For situations like this, I keep "AppZapper" on hand.

It's shareware for (I think) $12.95 -- it comes in very handy for  
someone (like me) who wants to try out all sorts of apps and then zap  
them if I don't want to keep them.

PS:  When you use AppZapper to zap an app, it makes a very satisfying  
"ZAP!" sound.
