Ray, and Ed, I use to get the same and I am running 10.4.11 But, i have done the following: Started up with the Shift key down (safe mode) and waited .. and waited. Then, logged in. Then, ran disk utility until those alerts stopped. Do not remember but believe 2-3 times. Then, shutdown, and went for some coffee. Then started up and problem gone. Have NO clue why. Had a very similar experience with Ical application when using iconical. Stopped using iconical and problem stopped. I assumed iconical was doing something to cause the issue. Do not know what.
