An old stand-alone iSight would be ideal...if you could find one to  
purchase.

You can use any webcam with a USB connection, even those that say  
that they are for Windows-only, with:

Macam (free)
driver for USB webcams on Mac OS X. It allows hundreds of USB webcams  
to be used
