[X4U] Self Contained GPS Mapping?

I have both Garmin (older model) and Magellan (current model) units.   
Both require Windows for updates to the maps, the POI database  
(extensive in Magellan's case) and the firmware.  I use an old machine  
I still have, but Bootcamp, or any of the commercial products that run  
Windows programs on the Intel Mac, would have been fine too.  Get the  
unit with the features you want.
