[X4U] mac mini hooked to a TV

hi,
i'd like to get a second-hand mac mini to use as a DVD player and  
media player for photos, home movies and (legal) copies of DVDs. it'll  
be hooked up to a Samsung 26" LCD TV.

can any mac mini do the job or does it have to be relatively powerful?  
i'm not planning on getting a G4 since all of my other computers are  
all intel macs, so as to have uniform set-ups.

i'm interestined in hearing other people's experience with this kind  
of set-up, things to look out for, etc.
