[X4U] MBPro trackpad jumpy

I bought a 2010 13: Mac Book Pro from the Apple refurb site couple weeks ago. Finding the trackpad a little squirrelly in a couple of areas..

One: sometimes it takes several taps to get it to register AS a tap (up to 5 actual taps to get one "tap" registered by the mac)
Two: 3-finger drags often jump across the monitor, out of proportion to what I'm doing.

Talked to Apple about it..zapped the PRAM, and did an SMC reset, problem persists. I saw an authorized repair center today, but couldn't get these problems to happen to the satisfaction of the "Macologist" behind the counter.

I know these problems are real; I have better things to do than make this stuff up.

How can I get the mac dood or genius or whatever repair gatekeeper to see what I'm experiencing so they'll take me seriously and effect repair?

Today, the macologist said to keep an eye on my RAM when the 3-finger drag gets jumpy. The machine has 4GB, and usually has 2.2GB free most of the time. I can't believe that several GB of RAM are necessary for smooth operation of the trackpad.

Any thoughts/suggestions?

thank you,

cat
