This weekend the 'book started behaving weirdly. I noticed it wouldn't<br>
awaken from "sleep" and that the machine was VERY hot (sitting
on my desk<br>
with the screen black).<br>

Subsequently, after forcing power off (holding down the power key until
the<br>
machine went completely quiet, then re-booting), I noticed that when I
TRY<br>
to make it sleep, the screen goes black, the sleep LED near the latch blinks<br>
and then extinguishes rather than doing its "pulsar" routine.
Moreover, the<br>
drive keeps spinning and the keys may stay backlit if the room is dark.
I<br>
can't "awaken" the machine from that state.<br>
<br>
I reset the power manager, booted into open firmware and reset nvram, set<br>
defaults, reset all, then reset pram, but even this didn't clear things
up.<br>
<br>
I tried booting into another user's account. Same problem. Machine can't<br>
sleep (same symptoms).<br>
<br>
I have AppleCare. Does the machine need to take a trip?<br>
<br>
As always, any/all suggestions on/off list greatly appreciated.<br>
