In v2004, there are three choices when you hold down the option key --<BR>
compact database, typical rebuild, and a more extensive rebuild. I don't<BR>
remember whether vX had those choices -- if it did, you might try one of the<BR>
other choices and see if you can get through it.<BR>

How big is the database? vX had a limitation of 2GB; if you hit that<BR>
number, your database was done for, literally. (v2004 removed that<BR>
limitation, for future reference -- not that it helps you right now.)<BR>
