I wanted to let you know about 2 new email lists hosted at TheMacintoshGuy.com, one for Automator and the other for Dashboard. Both lists are intended for regular end user type discussion. Heavy development type questions should be relegated to some of the other development based lists that have been created such as Apple's Dashboard-dev list. We would also like to welcome Tiger users to all of our Mac OS X based lists: X Users X Newbies X Servers X Software X Hardware X Unix X Dreams Eric Listmom From sylvia at sylviaharris.com Tue May 10 08:21:36 2005 From: sylvia at sylviaharris.com (sylviaharris) Date: Tue May 10 08:21:15 2005 Subject: [BTM] Bluetooth P900/MAC pairing Message-ID: <4000f9302951c5696df1559e2177238f@sylviaharris.com> I have a Sony P900 smart phone. I have had a terrible time pairing the phone with my MAC OX 10.3.6 via Bluetooth setup assistant. Error message: "Pairing attempt was unsuccessful. " Sometimes it works, sometimes it does not. Seems to be no pattern. Is there a way to pair these devices with ease? In general I find the sync process to complicated and too many steps - so I avoid syncing. Not good. First, I suggest that you upgrade to OSX 10.3.9, since my experience of Bluetooth and syncing my P900 has become better with each upgrade. Secondly, if you want a really smooth ride: Upgrade to 10.4 Tiger. At last, syncing is a process that works as it should. The forum discussions have mentioned the previous problems the posters had with syncing and various other Bluetooth. issues. Every one of them (do a google search for p900 sync tiger, and you should find the many posts) had ecstatic posts about how well the P900 synch is implemented in Tiger. I had a P900 and had all the same issues that you are having, I ended up selling the phone because of these issues. I am quite bumed that I did so (less than a month ago) now that i hear that the issue has been resolved.
