Hi, Bill --

I'm going through a pretty systematic search for a similar camera,
also for an iBook.

I'd like to call your attention to the following website:
www.dcresource.com

This site has VERY comprehensive tests on a huge assortment of
cameras. It's run by a private individual and accepts no corporate
sponsorship, so he's free to really tell it like it is.

This site also has an excellent FAQ and a "Buyer's Guide" for
newbies, telling them what to look for in terms of features, and
explaining in layman's terms some of the confusing aspects of
deciphering the technical jargon.

In the 2 megapixel range, several magazines have rated the Canon
Powershot A-40 as a best buy, and this website gives it a very high
rating. Also, the Fuji FinePix 2650.

In the 3.3 megapixel range, the Sony DSC-P71 is a highly-rated
camera. Also, the Fuji FinePix 3800, which has a 6x optical zoom.

Good luck on your search -- it can be very overwhelming, at first!

Cheers -
