No idea. I don't know for a fact that any actual, *physical* damage 
resulted, but there were scattered reports of a *sharp* drop in battery 
life. Apple opted to provide replacement batteries, probably to be able 
to examine the damaged batteries for a clue to the source of the 
problem.
