cd drawer wierdness

The cd drawer on my iBook (14", dual usb) has started acting strangely. I
recently finished using a disc in the cd and when I pulled the disc icon to
the trash, it disappeared from the desktop but the drawer didn't open. I
ended up using the paper clip approach to open the drawer and remove the
disc. Since that time, when I attempt to open the drawer (to insert a cd)
by pressing the eject button on the keyboard, I see the open/eject icon on
my screen, but I get a high-pitched tone and no open drawer. I can paper
clip it open at that point, put in a cd, and it works fine. However, at the
same time, if there is no disc in or if there is a disc in but not being
used, the drawer will open just by handling the right site of the computer!
Wierd.
