Also, did you run the hardware test CD (that should have come with your 
machine) to check your memory cards? My iMac choked at the time of an 
earlier OS upgrade, and the test found one of my 512 meg cards was at 
fault. Crucial happily shipped a replacement after giving me a product 
return approval.
