Sorry about the late reply. On 06/02/03 2:13, "David Linker" <dtlinker at u.washington.edu> wrote: > Has anyone had experience with DreamWeaver? A little. I maintain two small websites with it(less than 150 pages each). It is a huge application that does everything you would ever imagine doing with a website. That also means, that it is pretty hard to learn all aspects of it. I would probably call it similar to Photoshop in that respect: Reasonable easy to get into as a new user, but takes ages to master, and mastering it will demand that you work with it professionally. Two things I like about it, are that it has very nifty access to databases and has templates that work very well, especially if you are collaborating on a project, so you can only change what you are allowed to change and not ruin the looks. YMMV on what you find exciting about Dreamweaver. The integration with the rest of Macromedias MX-apps is of course brilliant, including Flash. It is not really a beginners choice, and I would not buy it for my mother, but my sister gets by with it - with help sometimes. Btw. At my local MUG, we are restructuring our webpages, and for this, we use BBEdit (in different flavors) to deal with php and mysql. Works like a charm :-) Cheers, Kim
