MacFixit says something about reinstalling Jag and then using the combo-update to bring yourself up to 10.2.4, this seems to solve a some peoples problems. Check with them, maybe it will help your problem. BTW, I have 3 different machines and none of them have had any trouble with the updates so it's not that common to have problems.
