[P1] quicken eats it, where to get the sw to reinstall?

Try moving the file "com.intuit.quicken.plist" out of her User--> 
Library--> Preferences folder (don't delete it yet, just in case) and 
see if that helps.

If you need to reinstall the program, it should be on one of the CDs 
that came with the iBook.
