I don't remember ever hearing of problems regarding cracked top cases in clamshell iBooks; if you hit a dead end in the road, visit http://pbparts.com If they don't have it, they can usually get it for you rather inexpensively, and if you don't want to replace it yourself, they don't charge for labor, IIRC. btw, Woz is not on this list, although he is a frequent reader of another...
