A pal of mine was the shepherd of Apple's Cray supercomputers, which
they used for design work.  So there's an example of a non-Apple
computer Apple was using.

The late Seymour Cray was amused to note that, while Apple was buying
Crays to design new machines, he was using an Apple to design the
Cray-2.

They don't make Crays any more, so I'm not sure what my friend is
doing these days.  I think he works at Sun, after a decade or more at
Apple.
