Hi folks,

First a quick introduction seeing as I'm new to this list. I'm a
university grad just starting out in the big scary world, I run
ThinkMac Software (http://www.thinkmac.co.uk) as a hobby and I do
various bits of web design and so on to pass time while I try and find
a job.

I've been a Mac user for a few years now, my first Mac was an blueberry
clamshell iBook, from that I've transitioned to a G4 800 Quicksilver
tower and a PowerBook G3 400 (Pismo). The reason I'm here today is
because I've decided to sell these two trusty workhorses and
consolidate down to one computer. After a lot of soul-searching and
Googling I've decided that one of those shiny new iBook G4 933s has my
name on it. I chose this model because it's better value for money than
the 1GHz model (£200 more for 20GB more disk space and 66MHz more CPU
power?!). Initially I was tempted by the 1GHz 12" PowerBook but I
decided the marginal performance increase and smaller screen were just
not worth the £300 more than the 933 iBook. I can use that saved money
to buy extra RAM, Bluetooth and a big FireWire hard-drive :)

Anyway to finally get to the point of this e-mail, I'd love to hear
from anyone who has brought one of the new G4 iBooks, what I've read so
far on Accelerate Your Mac seems positive and I hope to use the
firmware hack to get dual monitor support so I can run my 19" CRT at a
pleasant resolution.

If anyone on this list is in the UK and is in the market for a used
PowerBook G3 or PowerMac G4 800 please contact me and I'll give you the
full specs and what I'd like to get from their sale.

Cheers,

Rory
