If you get a used one, try to get it really cheap.. the clamshell 
ibooks are really too slow to run osx well.. OTOH you can sometimes 
find deals on fairly new (dual USB - modern design) ibooks.. If you go 
to dealmac.com and search for ibook, you can often find deals on new 
ibooks, but slightly older models.. They have a 1 year guarantee, but 
thats not enough.. I had a display problem come up recently on mine 
that would have cost hundreds to fix if I had to..but I still love it.. 
just be prepared .. laptops are fragile..

I have seen 700 Mhz ibooks for around $750.

Make absolutely sure to get it with applecare.. the ibooks are 
expensive to fix and all laptops are fragile so its worth it...
