Yea, that's a great little hack, isn't it.  I love being able to
hook up a larger monitor in spanning mode.

Interestingly, some time after applying that patch my logic board
went out (again).  After the repair I found the spanning feature
was still enabled.  That suprised me because I thought this hack/patch
modified PRAM, and I was under the impression that the PRAM is on the
logic board.  I thought for sure I'd have to reapply that patch when
I got the iBook back from repair, but no.

That left me head scratching a bit...
