[P1] OT: Internal modem on G4 tower

Try System preferences/Modem...Make sure it is configured, IE check for 
modem type selected, dial tone or pulse, sound on etc.
Make sure the modem is not being used by something else. Dial -up 
internet etc.
make sure there is a dial tone.
