Because of the dangers of a boot CD resetting and
getting at all of my data, I created an encrypted
image for all of my documents that I can mount and use
as my ~/Documents folder.  This makes it much more
difficult for a thief to get at my stuff (he may have
my machine, but he shouldn't be able to get to my
info).  I don't worry about this too much on my home
machine, but it makes me feel better about carrying my
iBook around.  YMMV.
