I recently purchased a Mobile 2.5" HotDrive external firewire enclosure 
on eBay for 24.00.  Here in San Antonio, Texas we have a Computer Show 
every 3 months, and I purchased a Fujitsu 20GB 2.5" Drive to put in my 
wife's Windows computer.  Of course because of they crappy Intel Bios it 
would not recognize the drive.  I popped it in this external enclosure, 
plugged it into my iBook, and it initialized it, and instantly 
recognized and mounted it on the desktop.  This enclosure is totally 
silent, and very fast.  There are still many available on eBay.
