My first digicam was a Kodak, my last 2 have been Oly's. I upgraded
last year from the 3 mp 3030 to the 5 mp 5060. I liked the hinged lcd
on the Canons and jumped when the Oly mimicked it - except it swivels
on the top instead of the side which I find much more useful. I can
flip the screen up and take shots at ground level without having to
crawl on my belly (reminds me of using my old 2 1/4 twin lens Yashica).
I also appreciate being able to protect the lcd when not in use. The
5060 can take both cf and xD at the same time which is real nice if you
are taking LOTS of pix at one time. Unfortunately the xDs are still
much more expensive and not ads fast saving to card as cf so I almost
never use the 32 mg that came with the camera. The 5060 is also one of
the first Olys that uses a proprietary battery instead of AAs. At
first I thought that would be a problem, but I can shoot much, much
longer with this new battery that with AA rechargeables. Finally the
5060 does QT movie mode at twice the quality of most other cameras. I
hardly ever use my old Canon minidv since it is so much easier to just
port the movie on the cf card to my mac via the card reader than to
have to go through iMovie with the dv.
