Yes, for the past 20 or more years -- starting back when I had an  
Apple ][c!
It has served me well, for all my writing needs (except from my MA  
thesis which I did with Nisus) and maintaining my customer database,  
but it appears it is near the end of its development cycle. Pages is  
the new Apple word/fancy document processor; I tinkered with the demo  
but haven't used it enough to have strong feelings about it.
Even a Micro$oft hater like me must admit that you'll  probably find  
life easier if you buy a copy of Microsoft Office X -- fewer  
headaches when opening documents from other individuals, etc.
