It has an airport CARD though right?  Otherwise, he'll need one of 
those, if he is planning on using wireless services at hotels/airports 
(you usually have to pay there), etc.   There are third party options 
out there too...but I don't know much about them.

Also, yes, he can use efax.  It is probably the easiest solution for 
this situation.  Of course, most hotels that he will stay at very well 
may have fax services available. I suppose another solution would be to 
print and fax.
