I'm thinking that I have a messed up cable in the hinge. I used to have a reception problem that went away when I opened and closed the screen. I thought I fixed it by fiddling with the cable when I went in to replace the inverter board. On the surface, it did seem to help to improve the signal strength...it was consistently strong...but only when I'm within a few feet of the basestation. I didn't test it away from basestation when I "thought" I fixed it...doh. Perhaps I'm wrong about the hinge cable. If anyone has some advice that would be nice. I'm looking for a replacement wire harness. Also, yes, the antenna cable is firmly in the connector. I've done this several times on a couple of different machines.
