[iBook] Kernel panics

Dear all,

I have an external USB2 3.5" HD casing that's causing me some grief.
It's by mapower (http://www.mapower.com/), and uses the genesys
chipset (I think).
I have a 160gb, ATA133 Seagate HD in it (that I installed myself).
I've installed the most recent version of their driver (2.30).
But it's a bit unstable (it doesn't always mount/unmount correctly,
and behaves a little erratically) and sometimes causes kernel panics
(about once /week).
My Computer is a G4 ibook 12" 800, running Tiger, although these
problems existed with Panther too.

I have a *slight* suspicion that it could be the HD itself that
causing problems - is there anything here to suggest this?

Here's a sample of panic.log that I think is relevant:

Thanks in advance,
