Does it do this will all your fonts or just one in particular? If the former, then it might be either a hardware problem with your keyboard or a software problem within the system itself, but this would be beyond me. If it's only one font in particular, either download and replace the font or use another as your default font for whichever application(s) in which it's not working or try playing around with the font appearances in System Preferences (under Appearances).
