[iBook] adding dvd rom to ibook?

Hello All,

I bought a ibook g3 366 second hand to see what is mac :)

I want to add a dvd rom to this mac. i found a dvd rom combo for 200$  which is expensive.

is it possible:

buying a usb 2.0 cd/hdd box, putting dvd in it, plugging to usb 1.1 ibook (i dont think this clamshell has usb 2.0)

I dont know a) if usb 1.1 is enough to read dvd or divx movies in dvd s b) ibook usb is compatible with this pc products.
